Cheap cruises are not difficult to find. With enough know-how, diligence and flexibility, it is very possible to book a cruise for half of the brochure rate. Often the best way to start looking for a good deal is to call the cruise line and get a starting price for the particular cruise you want to go on and what stateroom category you want. After you have the starting price check the Sunday papers, which will often have ads for big cruise bargains. Sunday papers in the more popular port of call cities, such as Miami and Ft. Lauderdale are also good to check.

There are also many different cruise booking websites that will offer cheap cruises. Usually the lowest rates are available at discount Websites made specifically for cruises such as cruise.com, jcruise.com, 1-800-cruises.com, and cruise411.com. Also check general discount travel Websites such as Expedia.com and Travelocity.

Another factor to keep in mind when searching for cheap cruises is the preferred dates of travel and the dates you are booking the cruise. January through March is known as the “wave period” for cruise lines. This is when the cruise industry is busiest and will often offer very cheap rates to beat out their competitors.

The more flexible you are on your travel dates and destination stops, the more likely you are to find cheap cruises. There are many different cruise lines and ports of call across the world. There will always be a few great deals, but they may not be the exact dates and destinations you would prefer.
