Cruises
Cruises are a stress free, luxurious, all inclusive way to travel to virtually anywhere in the world. Right now there are over 2,000 ports of call across the globe open to cruise ships. They are a terrific, generally affordable, vacation for families, honeymooners, groups of teens, college spring break trips, older couple getaways, etc.
One of the biggest pluses to cruises, opposed to other vacation options is the fact that most are all-inclusive, meaning that once you pay for the cruise and the airfare to get the port, there are very few expenses following. The all-you-can-food buffets are enough to allure any food lover. Most the time, however, soda and alcoholic drinks are not included as “food.” Tips are also generally not included in the base price.
Cruises can last anywhere from a day or weekend, to a month or a year. The most popular last around 5-7 days and will hit 2-4 destinations during that time. Day cruises will take you from port to your destination, stay at the destination for 3-4 hours, and then take you back. Year cruises literally take you around the world and can have around 60 destinations.
There are also a variety of specialty cruises available. Disney Cruise Line specializes in entertainment for families with young kids. Adventure cruises are designed for the truly adventurous interested in seeing different cultures and all-natural nature. River cruises are also available to float the Nile for the Mississippi.
