Luxury Cruise

Notable 6-star luxury cruise liners include Crystal Cruises, Cunard Line Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn Cruise Line, Sea Dream Yacht Club, Silversea Cruises, Radisson Cruise Lines, Windstar Cruise Lines, and Holland America Cruise Lines (suite class with Butler service). Currently Silversea Cruise lines is the most popular luxury liner.

Although most cruises and cruise lines will claim “luxury” in their advertisements, a true luxury cruise will have certain high standards that set it apart from other cruises. Most luxury cruise liners closely mimic the 1950’s style of 1st class luxury ships. They will have superb food, very attentive servers, formal dinners, classical music recital, and even chimes at dinner.

Another thing to look for when finding a true luxury cruise is all-inclusive pricing that goes beyond what is offered by the mainstream lines. For example alcoholic beverages, tips, and cruise excursions are often included in the cruise fare of a luxury liner. Note that with a true all inclusive fare, a good priced luxury cruise may end up costing the same as a mainstream cruise line. So, unlike the 1950’s, luxury is no longer just for the very wealthy.

Other things to look forward to when choosing a luxury cruise include: a much less crowded environment, balcony suites, top-quality amenities, gourmet cuisine, and usually few to no children running around. Most luxury cruises will have a 21-year-old age limit, so they are not ideal for young families.
